OnePlus Nord 5 Tested: Distinct Performance Beyond a Simple Rebranding Effort
The OnePlus Nord 5 is set to make its debut soon, and initial specifications have surfaced through a Geekbench listing. Unlike the TDRA certification, which offered limited details, this listing provides valuable insights into the device’s capabilities.
The model in question is the Indian variant, designated as CPH2707, though a global version is also on the way. In terms of performance, the OnePlus Nord 5 achieved a score of 1,977 in the single-core benchmark and 5,090 in the multi-core test.
One of the standout features confirmed by this listing is the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. This powerful chip is complemented by 12GB of RAM, likely to be LPDDR5X.
Additionally, the Nord 5 will run Android 15, layered with OxygenOS 15, which should enhance the user experience significantly. In contrast, the OnePlus Nord CE 5, a less impressive model, has also appeared on Geekbench, scoring 1,321 in the single-core and 4,082 in the multi-core tests.
This variant will utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset and will come with 8GB of RAM, along with Android 15 and OxygenOS 15 pre-installed. As it stands, the OnePlus Nord 5 is shaping up to be a more robust device compared to its counterpart, and if priced appropriately, could attract considerable interest from consumers.
The launch of both smartphones is just around the corner, anticipated for July 8. While additional specifications remain unclear, the initial Geekbench results provide a compelling look at what users can expect.
Previous rumors suggested the Nord 5 might simply be a rebranded OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra Edition, but this recent listing appears to dispel that notion.
