In May, Sony unveiled the much-anticipated Xperia 1 VII, a smartphone that stands out as a flagship model due to its powerful processor, impressive display, and sleek design. However, despite the excitement surrounding its release, some users have encountered significant issues with pre-orders.

Following the introduction of the Xperia 1 VII, Sony initiated a pre-order campaign in various European countries that included a promotional offer of free WH-1000XM5 headphones for customers who placed an order. This offer was a fantastic incentive for prospective buyers.

Unfortunately, reports indicate that some customers have faced unexpected cancellations of their pre-orders without any notification from Sony. Many users have taken to social media platforms, such as Reddit, to express their frustrations with the abrupt cancellations.

Some have been informed by Sony that they need to place new orders for the Xperia 1 VII. However, those customers found that they are ineligible for the complimentary headphones, as the promotional period has ended.

Reports of pre-order cancellations have surfaced mainly in European countries including the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, and France. Regrettably, Sony has not issued an official statement to clarify the situation, leaving many customers puzzled.

It’s important to note that not all users are affected by this issue. Many have successfully received their Xperia 1 VII phones along with the free Sony headphones as promised.

The Xperia 1 VII is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, complemented by 12 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB. It features a 6.5-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a triple camera system on the back.

As a notable shift, Sony has also announced that it will produce its top-tier smartphones through third-party manufacturers, starting with this model.
