The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge recently underwent a series of drop tests, revealing some surprising results regarding its durability. Conducted by PBK Reviews, these tests aimed to assess how well the ultra-thin device could withstand impacts, with the findings shared on their official YouTube channel.

The first drop test involved releasing the phone from a height equivalent to that of a person’s head onto its display. Unfortunately, this initial drop resulted in the glass cracking, although the display continued to function.

In the following test, the phone was dropped on its back; however, it didn’t land flat as intended. Instead, the frame struck the pavement first, causing some damage without resulting in any cracks.

During the third test, the phone was dropped again from head height onto its back. This time, the backplate cracked towards one side, and while there were noticeable scratches on the camera bezel, the cameras themselves remained unharmed.

The screen, once again, survived unscathed, as it was not directly impacted. For the final test, the phone was dropped from waist height onto its side.

Although visible scrapes resulted from this drop, the device continued to operate normally. Overall, the results were somewhat unexpected.

Despite the lightweight nature of the Galaxy S25 Edge, testers had anticipated that the display would remain intact following the first drop. The testing raised questions regarding the durability of the Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, suggesting it may not offer the protection consumers might expect from such technology.
