Cyberpunk 2077 is gearing up for a new DLC release, much to the excitement of its dedicated fanbase. Following a challenging launch in 2020, CD Projekt Red transformed the game into what many now consider a true masterpiece, offering numerous quality-of-life improvements through various patches.

The expansion titled Phantom Liberty further elevated the game, introducing fresh main campaign missions, side quests, and a comprehensive rework of the character skill system. While this rework was introduced in the patch launched before Phantom Liberty, it highlighted CDPR’s commitment to enhancing the game’s experience.

If you haven’t yet ventured into Night City, now is a perfect time to dive in, as it’s available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. As anticipation builds, it’s crucial for players to manage their expectations regarding the upcoming DLC.

Recent rumors surrounding new content circulated when users on the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit spotted that a writer from Virtuos mentioned the game on their resume, noting they began work on the project in April 2025. However, it has been suggested by Game Director Pawel Sasko that the anticipated update is actually patch 2.3, rather than a significant new DLC.

Sasko confirmed via a post on X that the update is being created with great care. The release of patch 2.3 is anticipated for June 26, as shared by Marcin Momot, the Global Community Director for The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077.

Although specifics about the patch are sparse, fans are hopeful for new side quests and enhancements to the game. Speculation about potential features ranges from multiplayer options to deeper gang relationships tied to street cred, with others wishing for the introduction of New Game+ and FSR 4 support.

CDPR’s ongoing efforts are likely to reinvigorate interest in the world of Night City, coinciding well with the recent launch for the Nintendo Switch 2.
