According to the report, the iPhone 17 Air will weigh approximately 146 grams, aligning with previous estimates of 145 to 150 grams.
This minor variation suggests a consistent trend in the device’s lightness. Moreover, the device is set to make a significant change in battery technology. Instead of the conventional lithium-ion batteries used in previous models, the iPhone 17 Air will feature silicon-carbon batteries.
This innovative technology has been recognized in other slim devices, such as the OPPO Find N5, as it allows for a denser and more compact battery without reducing capacity. Nevertheless, there are concerns about battery performance. Recent rumors indicate that the battery life may not meet expectations, prompting the possibility of an optional battery case to enhance longevity.
In terms of construction, the iPhone 17 Air will utilize a Series 7000 aluminum chassis, which is lighter than the titanium found in Apple’s iPhone Pro models.
