TikTok and SoundCloud have recently entered into a partnership that enhances the music experience for users on both platforms. With this new collaboration, TikTok users can seamlessly save their favorite tracks directly to SoundCloud. Previously, this feature was limited to services like Apple Music and Spotify.
Now, users can add songs from TikTok videos directly to their SoundCloud playlists with just a few clicks. To utilize this new feature, users only need to click on the audio track displayed beneath a TikTok video. Once they do, they can choose the “Add to Music App” option, which will then display a list of compatible music apps.
With SoundCloud now part of this list, selecting the ‘Add’ button will automatically save the song to the user’s TikTok playlist, making it easily accessible within their preferred music app. Since launching the ‘Add to Music’ feature globally in 2024, TikTok has reported impressive statistics, including over a billion track saves and billions of streams across various music streaming services. Emmy Lovell, SoundCloud’s Global Head of Music, emphasized the value of this partnership, stating that SoundCloud has always aimed to be the leading platform for discovering new music.
This collaboration simplifies the process for fans to save the music they love and fosters a stronger connection with artists, turning casual listeners into dedicated superfans. Lindsey Kelt Zikry, TikTok’s Global Product Partnerships Lead, also commented on the partnership, highlighting that millions of TikTok users actively use the Add to Music App feature. This collaboration with SoundCloud not only supports emerging artists but also helps them connect with a broader audience on TikTok.
