Recent information about Samsung’s first tri-fold handset has emerged, indicating that the device may closely resemble another foldable model from the company. A tipster known as PandaFlash X shared several details via X, though it is advisable to take this information with caution. The tipster claims that Samsung’s tri-fold device is “confirmed,” suggesting it is on the way, although no definitive launch date has been provided.

Speculation hints that it might debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 in July, but further confirmation will be necessary. Moreover, it was noted that the tri-fold handset will feature the same speaker drivers as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, complete with identical design cut-outs. The hinge mechanism is expected to be similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, though the tri-fold is said to include an additional hinge.

This suggests that the new device could enhance usability while maintaining a familiar structure. The tipster also revealed that the first tri-fold will have a “full-flat body like the Fold 7,” indicating that it will likely exhibit a boxy aesthetic similar to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7. Given these similarities, if the report proves accurate, there is a possibility that the tri-fold device could be showcased during Samsung’s second Unpacked event of the year.

Various rumors surrounding this handset have surfaced, including suggestions that its release may be restricted to specific markets like Korea and China, rather than being a global launch. Additionally, the device is expected to have slow charging capabilities, reportedly around 23W to 24W, which is on the lower end of charging speeds. One of the potential names for the phone is the Galaxy G Fold; if this is confirmed, it may not be regarded as particularly innovative.

Time will tell how this unfolds.
