No UI 7 Update for Note 20, But It’s Still Alive and Kicking!
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are currently receiving one of their final software updates. However, this update is not related to Android 15 or One UI 7, as neither device is eligible for such updates since 2023. Instead, they are both receiving the April 2025 security patch as part of Samsung’s commitment to provide two additional years of security updates following their launch in August 2020. This April security patch is being rolled out across Europe, Asia, and India, with plans to expand to more regions shortly.
Users can expect to receive this update soon, regardless of their location. The specific build numbers for the updates are ending in HYD1 for the Galaxy Note 20 and HYD3 for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. While this is not the final update for either device, it is indeed among their last. Both the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are eligible for a total of five years of updates, which includes the last two years designated solely for security patches.
If Samsung adheres strictly to this timeline, both devices will officially reach their end of life by August. Consequently, users can anticipate a few more monthly security updates until that time. After the devices reach the end of life, upgrading to a newer smartphone will be advisable. It’s essential to keep smartphones updated with security patches to ensure safe usage.
