Following up on our exclusive information about the Moto G Power 2026, we now provide an early preview of the Moto G 2026. The design appears to remain largely unchanged, though there is now a new blue color variant. This model, designated XT2613-1, indicates it is from the 2026 lineup, specifically the regular series for the US market. For reference, the previous model, the Moto G 2025, was identified by the model number XT2513.

The new color seems to align with Pantone 2376C, characterized as a light slate bluish-gray. Although an official name hasn’t been assigned yet, it’s worth noting that Motorola continues to use a vegan leather backing for the Moto G 2026. Interestingly, the colorway revealed for the Moto G Power 2026 did not include vegan leather, but this doesn’t rule out its use in other variants. In terms of camera features, the Moto G 2026 is expected to retain the three-camera setup seen previously.

It’s important to clarify that the third “camera” functions as an ambient light sensor, enhancing color accuracy in images—a trend seen in several recent Motorola devices. While we anticipate that the camera system will remain consistent, an upgrade to the secondary camera would be welcomed. The Moto G 2025 showcased a 50-megapixel primary camera with a f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens, and it’s essential to remember that this smartphone typically retails for under $200 before tariffs. As for the launch timing of the Moto G 2026, it is uncertain at the moment.

The Moto G 2025 debuted on January 14 this year, shortly after CES. Traditionally, smartphone releases tend to occur slightly earlier each year, suggesting the Moto G 2026 could potentially arrive before the new year. However, a December launch in the US would be unusual, as it would fall after the holiday shopping season. A reveal at CES in Las Vegas would be more strategic, given the limited number of phone announcements at that event.
