Samsung is gearing up to unveil new wearables soon, with the much-anticipated Galaxy Watch 8 series on the horizon. This series includes at least two models, and recent certification has confirmed the return of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which was absent in the last generation of devices. This marks a significant moment for fans who have been missing the Classic variant, especially those who appreciate the rotating bezel feature.

In 2024, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 7 series, which comprised a standard model and an Ultra version, but notably lacked a Classic model. The reason for this omission was not clarified by Samsung, leaving fans wondering. However, excitement is building as the possibility of a rotating bezel returning with the new series becomes more plausible.

The Bluetooth SIG has certified the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, confirming its name and model number (SM-L505U). While the certification did not reveal many details about the device, its approval suggests that an official announcement is on the way. Expectations are high for Samsung to reveal these watches during their second Unpacked event in July.

Currently, not much is known about the lineup outside of the Classic and standard models, but it is likely that Samsung will introduce an Ultra variant as well. The return of the Classic model is sure to delight users who were disappointed by the design choices of the Watch 7, where the rotating bezel was replaced by a touch bezel for navigation. Additionally, a recent certification for the vanilla Galaxy Watch 8 indicated a battery capacity of 435mAh.

However, details regarding the Classic model’s battery capacity have yet to be disclosed. The Galaxy Watch Classic 6 had a 425mAh battery, while various model numbers have emerged for both the standard and Classic variants of the new Galaxy Watch 8 series.
