Galaxy S23 Series in the US Set to Receive One UI 7 Update Soon
Samsung is continuing to progress with the One UI 7 update, which has faced multiple delays. Initially, the update targeted newer models like the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6.
However, attention has now shifted to older devices, and the Galaxy S23 series is the latest to receive the One UI 7 update in the US. The Android 15-based One UI 7 update is being rolled out to the Galaxy S23 series, specifically for carrier-locked units, with the firmware version designated as DYD9.
Reports indicate that the rollout is primarily reaching models such as the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra sold by smaller carriers, including US Cellular and Xfinity Mobile. Larger carriers are expected to follow suit soon, and there are plans for the update to be available for unlocked devices shortly thereafter.
Users who download the 5GB update can expect a host of new features and enhancements. These include a revamped user interface with updated app icons, smoother animations, and the inclusion of the April 2025 security patch, which bolsters user security and experience.
Interestingly, the update for the Galaxy S23 series arrived ahead of schedule. Samsung had initially planned for the update to be deployed in May for all markets, including the United States.
The earlier-than-expected rollout has come as a pleasant surprise to users, raising hopes for similar updates for additional Galaxy models in the near future. As momentum builds, expectations now center on the One UI 7 update reaching all major carriers and unlocked devices across the country.
