Samsung is reportedly in the process of developing the One UI 7 Watch update for its range of smartwatches and may soon launch a beta program. Users on X have already identified firmware builds for the new update for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra on Samsung’s servers. Although Samsung has not yet fully rolled out the One UI 7 experience to various Galaxy smartphones and tablets, the company is actively working on a One UI 7 Watch Beta for its smartwatches. Although no official announcement has been made, several users have confirmed spotting the Beta firmware on the servers.
Two users, Theordysm and Alfatürk, have shared details regarding the firmware builds for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. The Beta firmware for the Watch 7 has the identification “L310XXU1ZYDA,” while the corresponding build for the Watch Ultra is “L705USQU1ZYDA.” The presence of these firmware builds on Samsung’s US software server indicates that the Beta program could launch simultaneously in the United States and South Korea. These builds will likely undergo changes during the testing phase. Currently, information about the upcoming One UI 7 Watch is limited.
However, it is anticipated that this update will be based on the forthcoming Wear OS 6, which Google is expected to release later this year. Reports suggest that Wear OS 6 might replace Google Assistant with the new Gemini artificial assistant. An APK teardown of Google app version 16.14.39 hinted at a new “Raise to Talk” feature, allowing users to activate Gemini or Google Assistant by simply raising their hand towards the Galaxy Watch. Additionally, One UI 7 Watch is expected to adopt a design language similar to that of One UI 7 for Samsung phones and tablets, promising improved animations and a refreshed user interface.
Samsung may initiate the beta software program for its smartwatches in the coming months, so it’s worth staying updated on any announcements.
