Samsung has restarted the rollout of One UI 7 for its 2024 foldable phones after a temporary delay. The update has initially resumed in Korea and is expected to expand to other regions soon.
The journey towards the One UI 7 rollout has been challenging for Samsung. The company took considerable time to initiate the beta version, which extended the process significantly.
Many users who received the beta are still waiting for the stable version to be released. Normally, by this time of year, Samsung would have had the official stable version circulating widely.
However, unexpected complications have delayed this process, including the need to pause the rollout due to a critical bug detected in the software. This major bug was identified in the Korean version of the devices, leading Samsung to halt the global rollout, affecting models like the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 Special Edition.
While this decision did not come as a surprise, it undoubtedly added to the frustration of users awaiting the update. Fortunately, Samsung has now resumed its rollout of One UI 7, beginning again in Korea.
The update has been released for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition, and it supposedly addresses bugs and enhances system stability. Although the exact nature of the previously identified bug remains unclear, users can take comfort in knowing that it has now been rectified.
While the update is currently limited to Korea, Samsung plans to extend it globally in the near future. Users of Samsung’s 2024 foldable phones should keep an eye out for the update, which will bring new features, improved AI capabilities, and an updated interface.
It’s wise to ensure sufficient storage space is available before proceeding with the update.
