Samsung Pauses One UI 7 Update Following Reports of Significant Bugs from Users
Samsung has paused the rollout of its One UI 7 update following the discovery of a significant bug. This issue, identified as an unlock bug, was first reported in Korea but has led to a global halt in the update process. The One UI 7 update, based on Android 15, was initially released earlier this month, beginning in South Korea and subsequently extending to Europe, the United States, and other markets. However, due to the reported unlock bug affecting users’ ability to access their devices, Samsung has halted the rollout for all models that were included in the update.
This bug is particularly concerning for owners of the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, among other devices slated for the update. Notably, some reliable sources have confirmed the situation, including renowned tipster Ice Universe, who stated that the bug was the catalyst for stopping the update. Samsung has also acknowledged the issue, suggesting that they are aware and working on a resolution. Despite extensive beta testing prior to the release, this significant bug slipped through the cracks, raising questions about the testing process.
The timeline for a fix remains unclear, but Samsung intends to resume the update once the issue is addressed. If this delay impacts the broader rollout schedule, the company is expected to provide updates. In addition to the previously mentioned devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Tab S10+/S10 Ultra, as well as the S23 and S24 series, were expected to receive updates in April. As the situation unfolds, affected users will need to remain patient while awaiting a solution.
