Purchasing new phones directly from the factory can be difficult due to higher prices. This is where refurbished devices come into play, offering a more affordable alternative.
If you’re interested in acquiring a Galaxy phone, Samsung has launched its Galaxy Certified Used Phones program, making slightly used phones available at a fraction of the cost. This initiative is similar to Samsung’s ongoing practice of selling “Re-newed” phones, a method they have been employing for several years.
Currently, Samsung’s certified used phones are being sold primarily in South Korea, starting with the Galaxy S24 series. While the availability is limited now, the company plans to expand the range of devices in the future.
A refurbished Galaxy S24 will be a great investment in 2025; it boasts excellent performance and will soon receive the One UI 7 update, keeping it competitive compared to newer models like the Galaxy S25. One of the main advantages of purchasing a Galaxy Certified Used phone is the substantial savings.
Buyers can save between KRW 260,000 and KRW 640,000 (approximately $175 to $434). For reference, the pricing for various models is as follows: the Galaxy S24 costs KRW 889,900 ($604) for the 256GB variant and KRW 949,300 ($645) for the 512GB.
The Galaxy S24+ is priced at KRW 1,041,700 (~$708) for 256GB and KRW 1,101,100 (~$747). The premium Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at KRW 1,307,900 (~$888) for 256GB, rising to KRW 1,486,100 (~$1,008) for the 1TB version.
These devices are in excellent condition, having been returned within a week and showing no signs of wear. In many cases, you might even receive a phone that was unboxed but never used.
Thus, choosing a refurbished model essentially gives you a new device experience at a better price.
