Adobe has recently unveiled plans for AI agents in both Photoshop and Premiere Pro, coinciding with its Max event set for April 24th in London. These innovative agents can provide recommendations for editing photos and videos and can even execute adjustments automatically. Creative users also have the option to request further modifications, with the AI in Premiere Pro capable of producing rough video cuts.
The integration of artificial intelligence into Adobe’s creative suite has been an ongoing trend. A notable addition to Premiere Pro last week was the Generative Extend feature, allowing users to lengthen video clips by up to two seconds using AI technology. With the upcoming Max event, Adobe promises to showcase an array of new AI functionalities, particularly in Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
One of the most exciting developments in Photoshop is the introduction of a creative agent. This AI will reside in a floating “Action panel” and analyze images to offer context-aware editing suggestions. Tasks such as removing subjects from the background or adjusting brightness can be achieved simply by clicking on the provided recommendations, significantly speeding up the editing process.
Previously, Adobe introduced the “Distraction Removal” tool, which allowed users to fill gaps left by unwanted objects or individuals. The new agentic AI is designed to enhance this experience, offering quality edits more efficiently. Additionally, users will be able to interact with the AI agents through natural language prompts, enabling them to learn the necessary steps to complete specific tasks.
Meanwhile, in Premiere Pro, the AI agent will assist editors in refining footage, adjusting color, and mixing audio. Ely Greenfield, Adobe’s Digital Media CTO, emphasized that while AI cannot replace human creativity, it can make informed suggestions that aid in project development and facilitate learning for users.
