A recent benchmark leak has revealed potential performance expectations for NVIDIA’s upcoming RTX 5060 Ti. Preliminary data suggests that this GPU will deliver a significant performance increase over the RTX 4060 Ti, although it may not be as drastic as some enthusiasts might hope. Currently, NVIDIA has not officially announced the RTX 5060 Ti. Until that happens, thorough reviews and benchmarks will be needed to ascertain its true capabilities compared to the previous generation.
However, challenges exist for consumers looking to purchase this new GPU, as acquiring any product from the current generation has proven difficult and expensive. Many consumers have faced steep price hikes attributed to supply chain issues and market demand, making these GPUs even harder to obtain. One factor contributing to the elevated prices is tariffs, which have caused sharp increases shortly after product releases. Retailers, including Newegg, have cited these tariffs as a reason for the inflated costs seen in recent launches.
Additionally, scalpers have exacerbated the situation by buying up stock and reselling it at significantly higher prices, creating an artificial scarcity in the market. Looking specifically at the benchmarks, the RTX 5060 Ti reportedly outperforms the RTX 4060 Ti by approximately 14%. This benchmark was tested using OpenCL and Vulkan, with scores of 146,234 and 140,147 points respectively, indicating a solid enhancement in performance. Despite this improvement, price remains a critical issue for potential buyers.
The value of the upgrade might diminish if the GPU is priced disproportionately high. Importantly, NVIDIA plans to release two versions of the RTX 5060 Ti: one with 16GB of VRAM and another with 8GB. The benchmark data corresponds to the 16GB model, so performance may vary for the 8GB version, though it is expected to maintain a competitive edge against its 40-series counterpart.
