YouTube has introduced a new Music Assistant AI tool for content creators, enhancing its capabilities beyond the previously released Dream Tracks feature. This innovative tool allows creators to generate custom, royalty-free instrumental tracks for their long YouTube videos entirely free of charge.

With the Music Assistant, creators can create high-quality background music by simply providing text prompts describing what they need. Users can specify various aspects, such as the desired instruments, mood, and the type of video that the music will accompany.

Based on these inputs, the AI generates multiple music options, enabling creators to download and incorporate these tracks into their videos without any copyright concerns. For instance, a creator might ask for “peaceful music to concentrate while studying” or “happy mood songs with good beats,” and receive a selection of relevant tracks to choose from—all at no cost.

YouTube’s new Music Assistant expands upon the earlier Dream Tracks feature, which was primarily focused on creating music for short video clips. By shifting its focus to long-form content, the Music Assistant aims to meet the evolving needs of creators looking for dynamic audio solutions.

Currently, this feature is available only to users participating in the Creator Music (Beta) program within YouTube Studio. In addition to the Music Assistant, YouTube is testing a new feature for creators of short-form videos.

This newly developed capability can automatically synchronize the selected music with the short content uploaded by creators. Additionally, users will have the option to create short videos from their phone’s gallery, automatically synced to the music of their choice.

Presently, a select group of creators is testing this auto music-syncing feature, but YouTube intends to make it widely available in the future.
