The Vivo X200 Ultra is set to impress photography enthusiasts with a remarkable 200MP super telephoto external lens that has been co-engineered with ZEISS. To take full advantage of this advanced feature, users will need to purchase a separate Photography Kit. This innovative lens is designed to provide an 8.7x optical zoom, significantly enhancing the camera’s capabilities for capturing distant subjects. Recently, Vivo announced the upcoming launch of the Photography Kit for the Vivo X200 Ultra flagship model.

As part of this announcement, a company executive hinted at an exciting secret feature that would be unveiled later. This anticipation was met with the reveal that the secret was, in fact, the external lens, as confirmed by Vivo Product Manager Hax Boxiao. This information was subsequently shared across Vivo’s social media platforms. The 200-megapixel F2.3 lens utilizes a sophisticated arrangement of 13 high-transmittance glass lenses structured in three groups following a Kepler design.

This setup allows the lens to expand the telephoto capability of the Vivo X200 Ultra by 2.35x, resulting in an impressive 200mm pure optical effect. Additionally, the lens offers secondary focal points of 800mm (35x) and an equivalent of 1,600mm (70x) for achieving a remarkable 30x effect. The Photography Kit not only provides these impressive telephoto options but also includes a dedicated video button for enhanced shooting experiences. To showcase the lens capabilities, Hax Boxiao shared camera samples demonstrating various focal lengths, including 200mm, 400mm, and 800mm.

The Vivo X200 Ultra is expected to be officially launched on April 21 in China, alongside a range of other products from Vivo. It remains likely that this premium smartphone will initially be exclusive to the Chinese market.
