Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is anticipated to launch for sale in late May, following its announcement scheduled for May 13. The device will first be available in South Korea and China. Reports regarding the launch timeline surfaced last week, particularly from Ice Universe on Weibo, who indicated that sales would commence late in May; however, no precise date has been confirmed yet.

Given the announcement on May 13, it is likely that the Galaxy S25 Edge will be available for purchase around May 22 or 23. Samsung typically opens pre-orders immediately following the announcement, with devices usually shipping the following Thursday or Friday, especially for flagship models. The Galaxy S25 Edge has generated excitement not only due to its innovative design but also because of its rumored specifications.

While Samsung showcased the device at Unpacked and MWC in March, many details remain unverified. Observations suggest that it will be remarkably thin, at approximately 5.84mm, making it sleeker than the standard Galaxy S25, which measures 7.2mm, and the S25 Ultra at 8.2mm. In terms of display, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to feature a 6.62-inch screen with a resolution of 1080p.

The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, likely a slightly overclocked version. Interestingly, speculation suggests it may utilize the 7-core version found in the OPPO Find N5, a strategic move considering the phone’s compact form factor. One notable concern is the battery capacity, rumored to be only 3,900 mAh.

If Samsung does not opt for Silicon-Carbon technology, the battery might fall short. This provides an opportunity for Samsung to innovate with new technologies; however, past issues such as those with the Galaxy Note 7 might make the company cautious in this regard.
