Samsung is reportedly set to introduce a new rugged device in its Galaxy XCover lineup—the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro, previously referred to as the Galaxy XCover 8 Pro. This upcoming device has already received several certifications, signaling its impending launch.

Additionally, exclusive details about its key specifications and pricing have come to light, enhancing anticipation amongst potential users. The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro is designed for both industrial settings and adventurous individuals who require a durable phone for activities such as mountaineering or expeditions.

As part of its rugged design, this phone aims to withstand accidents and hazardous environments. Following the release of the standard XCover 7 in early 2023, the arrival of a new model in the series feels timely.

A recently leaked render of the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro has provided insight into its design. This leak, sourced from YTECHB, showcases a significant upgrade in its camera capabilities, featuring a dual rear camera system.

This is a notable improvement over the single rear sensor found in the XCover 7. While XCover devices are not primarily designed for high-quality photography, the inclusion of a more versatile camera system is certainly welcome.

Aesthetically, the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro resembles the current XCover 7, with the main distinction being the dual cameras, which necessitated a repositioning of the LED flashes. The new design includes flatter bumps on the rear cover while still appearing robust.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro boasts a 6.6-inch LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The rear camera system incorporates a 50 MP main sensor and an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, while a 13 MP front camera supports selfies and video calls.

Powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, it includes 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, and the option to expand with a microSD card up to 2 TB. A 4,350 mAh battery with 15W wired charging rounds out the feature set, alongside IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certifications.

The expected price for the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro is around €599 in Europe, and while no official release date has been announced yet, the array of certifications suggests that an announcement could be forthcoming.
