Samsung has announced the official rollout of the One UI 7 update for its Galaxy S24 series and the latest foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. This update, based on Android 15, introduces significant enhancements, including a redesigned user interface, improved performance, and advancements in Galaxy AI. Users can expect a more streamlined experience with visual modifications such as a cleaner Quick Panel, a new Now Bar widget, and intelligent features that together deliver a fresh feel. For those using the One UI 7 beta, a minor over-the-air update will be available.

However, if you are still on One UI 6, be prepared for a substantial 5.2GB download, so it’s advisable to connect to WiFi. This update also includes important security features with the April 2025 security patch. One of the most notable changes in One UI 7 is a complete redesign of the notification shade and Quick Panel. These features now have separate pages for a more organized look.

Additionally, the volume slider has been integrated into the Quick Panel, while notifications have been restructured into a pill-shaped format with larger icons. Samsung’s native apps and widgets will also benefit from a visual refresh, featuring rounded corners and more customization options. Beyond aesthetics, One UI 7 offers practical upgrades as well. Users can enjoy refined multitasking with smoother animations, an expanded view of app folders on the home screen, and enhanced flexibility for lock screen widgets.

The new Now Bar widget, located on the lock screen and status bar, provides useful information at a glance, such as sports scores and media controls, reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island. Galaxy AI capabilities are set to improve as well. Features like Writing Assist enhance grammar and text formatting, while the Audio Eraser cleans up recordings. The camera app has also been updated to facilitate one-handed use, addressing the challenges posed by larger devices.

The One UI 7 rollout is taking place in stages, so users may not receive it immediately. You can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. This update will also soon be available for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, and Galaxy Tab S9 and S10 lineups later this month.
