Samsung has begun distributing the One UI 8 Watch beta update for its Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra models. This beta program, announced recently, includes a range of enhancements focusing on health features, a redesigned notifications view, a new battery charging screen, and overall user experience improvements. At this time, the update is available exclusively in South Korea and the United States.
The One UI 8 Watch beta update can be accessed by Bluetooth-only models and LTE variants on the T-Mobile network, with the initial beta build weighing in at 1.9GB. To download the beta version, users must update their Samsung Members, Galaxy Wearable, and Watch Manager apps on their connected phones. Additionally, the stable release of One UI 8 Watch is expected to coincide with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch 8.
To participate in the beta program, users should install the latest version of the Samsung Members app on their phone and log in with the Samsung account linked to their Galaxy Watch. A banner promoting the One UI 8 Watch beta will appear within the app, allowing users to enroll their device. After enrollment, the beta update can be checked through the Galaxy Wearable app.
The One UI 8 beta introduces an updated user interface and innovative health features such as the Antioxidant Index, Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, and Running Coach. However, some functionalities may be exclusive to the latest Galaxy Watch models. Health-related enhancements also include mindfulness tools and improved bedtime tracking.
Additional features include the new Now Bar and Now Brief, which provide live updates and important daily information directly on the watch face. Notifications have been improved, with a better layout that stacks alerts vertically for easier viewing. Users can choose between receiving notifications on their phone, watch, or both.
Furthermore, the update brings features like personalized app screens and watch face customization options.
