Evan Blass, known as evleaks, has recently unveiled two new images showcasing Samsung’s forthcoming foldable devices: the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7. These pictures provide further insight into the sleek design of these models, particularly highlighting the impressive thinness of each phone. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is set to become Samsung’s slimmest foldable device to date.
The images depict both devices in a half-opened position, demonstrating their reduced bulk. While the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will maintain a similar thickness to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is poised for a significant transformation. Currently, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 measures 12.1mm when folded, making it comparably thin for a book-style foldable but still thicker than its competitor, the OPPO Find N5, which is only 8.9mm thick.
With the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung aims to match that 8.9mm thickness, drastically enhancing its appeal in the foldable market. The leaked images also reveal the returning punch hole design on the main display, providing a fresh look for the upcoming model. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is not expected to drastically alter its thinness.
The previous model was already quite slim for a flip-phone foldable. Nevertheless, one notable upgrade will be the introduction of a larger cover display that wraps around the rear camera, as Samsung has decided to move away from its traditional folder-type cover display. It is hoped that this new cover display will enable users to run various apps seamlessly without unnecessary complications.
Both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are anticipated to be officially revealed during Samsung’s Unpacked event on July 9.
