Apple is rumored to introduce a significantly redesigned camera bar in its upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models, a change that appears to be inspired by Google’s Pixel series. A recent video featuring a dummy unit of the iPhone 17 Pro showcased this controversial redesign, and more recently, additional photos of what is alleged to be a dummy unit have surfaced on social media. These images provide a closer look at the rear design of the device. Gadget tipster Majin Bu shared images of two purported iPhone 17 Pro dummy units on social media.

The photos reveal a striking black colorway, in contrast to the Black Titanium of the iPhone 16 Pro. The focus of the leaked images is clearly on the new camera bar design, which diverges from the classic camera bump that Apple has used in previous models. Instead, the iPhone 17 Pro features a camera module that extends across the back of the device, marking a notable shift from the square camera island positioned in the top-left corner of the current iPhone 16 Pro models. The leaked images align with earlier reports about the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera layout.

It appears that the design maintains the familiar “camera ring” arrangement seen in the iPhone 16 Pro lineup. The dummy images also showcase the placement of the LED flash and LiDAR sensor on the right side of the camera module. Additionally, the photos provide insight into the thickness of the camera bar, indicating that it may protrude significantly from the rear of the device. In a separate revelation, the same source also leaked images of an alleged dummy unit for the iPhone 17 Air.

This model features a thinner camera bar, resembling the camera island of the Pixel 9, and reportedly houses a single camera on the rear. However, the authenticity of these leaks remains uncertain, as the tipster has a mixed track record with device leaks. Nonetheless, the design depicted in the latest photos aligns with current rumors surrounding the iPhone 17 series.
