Recently, the gaming landscape has seen a new addition to the Xbox family with the announcement of the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition. On June 24, Microsoft’s Xbox team partnered with Meta to introduce this variant of the Meta Quest 3S VR headset. While it retains the same functionality as its standard counterpart, this special edition is available in a striking black color scheme and comes with unique bonuses. Both companies emphasize that this is an extremely limited edition headset, implying a restricted number of units for eager buyers.

One of the main attractions of the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition is the accompanying perks. It is crucial to understand the differences between this model and the regular Quest 3S. The standard version starts at $299, while the Xbox Edition retails for $399. The additional cost provides consumers with a 90-day trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a limited edition Xbox Wireless controller, and a 90-day Meta Horizon+ trial.

Plus, the bundle includes an Elite strap for enhanced comfort. When you calculate the total value of the included perks, excluding the Meta Horizon+ (which is also available with the standard model), it amounts to approximately $195. The Elite Strap is priced at around $69.99, an Xbox wireless controller typically costs about $64.99, and the 90-day Game Pass Ultimate membership is around $60. Thus, purchasing all these items separately with the regular Quest 3S would set you back approximately $499, making the Xbox Edition a more economical choice despite its higher initial price.

However, a trade-off exists: the regular Quest 3S offers 256GB of storage compared to the Xbox Edition’s 128GB. Shoppers need to weigh their preferences between added extras and storage capacity while considering the value of a robust VR experience.
