Huawei has officially introduced its Pura 80 series smartphones at an event in China and is now set to unveil them to global markets next month. Teasers have begun appearing on Huawei’s global social media channels, hinting at an upcoming launch event. The global release is scheduled for July 10 in Dubai, as highlighted in a recent poster.
In China, Huawei launched four models within the Pura 80 series: the Pura 80, 80 Pro, 80 Pro+, and 80 Ultra. However, details regarding the availability of all models in international markets are still unclear. The promotional material prominently features the Pura 80 Ultra, which is the flagship model of the series.
Given Huawei’s previous pattern, it’s possible that the company might not release the Pura 80 Pro+ in global markets, similar to their decision with last year’s Pura 70 series. It may focus instead on launching the Pura 80, 80 Pro, and 80 Ultra models. The Pura 70 series was introduced globally with a starting price of €999 in Europe, suggesting that the Pura 80 series could fall within a comparable price range this time.
The Pura 80 Ultra stands out for its innovative camera system, which includes two telephoto lenses using a single sensor. It features remarkable hardware, such as a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, a 12.5MP ultra-telephoto lens, a 40MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor, allowing for dual optical zoom options of 3.7x and 9.4x alongside a 100x digital zoom capability. The device boasts a 6.8-inch OLED FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the Kirin 9020 processor with 16GB of RAM.
To support extended usage, it comes equipped with a 5,700mAh battery that enables fast charging options. Huawei is expected to release further details about the Pura 80 series soon, so stay tuned for updates.
