Samsung recently introduced its Galaxy Tab S10 series and followed up with the FE versions earlier this year. Now, the tech giant is reportedly developing the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, aiming to position it as the most budget-friendly choice in the S10 lineup. In May, tipsters uncovered information regarding this new tablet on Geekbench, and recent reports suggest that Samsung has begun internal software testing for the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. A user on the platform X, named @Alfatürk, discovered firmware associated with the model number SM-X406B, which is believed to correspond to the upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 Lite.
This development indicates that Samsung may have finalized the device’s hardware and is now focusing on software testing. The internal testing involves the One UI software with the build number “X406BXXU0AYF9,” which is a significant update following its previous listing on Geekbench. The software being tested is based on Android 15 and utilizes One UI 7, although it is expected that the final release will come with One UI 8 pre-installed. Regarding specifications, Geekbench results suggest that the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite might be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1380 processor, with options for either 6GB or 8GB of RAM.
Early benchmarking indicates a single-core score of 782 and a multi-core score of 2,637, aligning it with mid-range performance levels. Samsung is likely to place the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite beneath the Galaxy Tab S10 FE lineup. Current reports hint at a potential launch alongside the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra in October. However, it is possible that the device may be released quietly on the company’s website, rather than through a formal event, as introducing a budget option alongside flagship models may not align strategically.
