The launch of NVIDIA’s RTX 50-series has not been well-received by many consumers, primarily due to issues with availability, pricing, and the minimal performance improvements compared to the RTX 40-series. Recent leaks concerning the RTX 50-Series Super variants have sparked renewed interest, as they suggest specifications that could align more closely with consumer expectations for this generation. One of the major highlights from the leaked specifications is the increase in VRAM.
Over the weekend, details emerged regarding the RTX 5080 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super, and RTX 5070 Super. A notable feature across all three models is the enhanced VRAM compared to their non-Super counterparts. Despite various complaints about the performance and presentation of the RTX 50-series GPUs, the VRAM capacity of the lower-tier models has been a particularly significant point of contention.
Many have criticized the VRAM being too similar to that of the RTX 40-series models. In response, NVIDIA appears to be making adjustments with the Super models. For example, the RTX 5070 Ti Super is rumored to come equipped with 24GB of VRAM, a substantial increase from the 16GB offered in the standard RTX 5070 Ti.
This enhancement should ideally lead to a noticeable boost in performance, though concrete results will only be available once users begin to test the cards. Notably, this is not the first time these specifications have surfaced; a previous rumor from April hinted that at least two of the new cards would feature 24GB of VRAM. While the leaks provide a clearer picture of the new models’ specifications, pricing details remain unspecified.
It is anticipated that the prices may remain comparable to those of the regular variants, and Wccftech predicts that the RTX 5070 Ti Super could be priced around $749 at MSRP. This pricing would offer good value, given the anticipated upgrades, assuming consumers can find the cards at that price point. On the power front, the RTX 5070 Ti Super is said to have a power draw of up to 350W, while the RTX 5080 Super may exceed 400W, and the RTX 5070 Super is expected to sit at 275W.
Additionally, there will be an increase in core count for the RTX 5070 Super, moving from 6144 cores in the non-Super version to 6400 cores, although the core counts for the other two Super variants are rumored to remain unchanged.
