Leaked: Meta’s New Smart Glasses May Feature an Integrated Display for Enhanced User Experience
Meta has seen notable success in the wearables market, particularly with its Ray-Ban smart glasses. Unlike many tech products that feel like mere novelties, smart glasses have found appeal thanks to their fashionable design and reasonable pricing. Meta is reportedly developing new smart glasses, promising an enhanced experience with an upcoming model known as Hypernova.
Recent rumors suggest that the Hypernova will be an upgraded version of the current Ray-Bans, featuring a built-in display. A leaked image shared by a user on X hints at the design of these glasses, although the quality of the image leaves much to be desired. While there are similarities to the existing Meta Ray-Bans, the main upgrade appears to be the addition of a display that expands functionality.
Current models lack this feature but offer a camera for livestreaming, along with speakers and a microphone for calls and interactions with Meta AI. The inclusion of a display could significantly broaden the potential uses of these glasses. Accompanying the leaked image is a band, the purpose of which remains unclear.
Speculation suggests it may include built-in sensors that enable gesture-based controls, enhancing user interaction with the glasses and their display. Meta’s commitment to wearables is evident, with multiple models supposedly in development. Besides the Hypernova, there are plans for the Hypernova 2 and a pair of augmented reality glasses called Orion.
