At last year’s Made by Google event in August, Google introduced a groundbreaking new feature named Gemini Live, powered by artificial intelligence. Since then, the company has made several updates to enhance its capabilities.
Recently, Google has also begun offering extension support for various applications within Gemini Live, although many popular apps still lack this feature. There are indications that Google is working to broaden extension support for additional well-known applications.
A recent report from Android Authority revealed that they discovered a list of upcoming app extensions during their investigation of the beta version 16.25.44.sa.arm64 of the Google Android app. This list features extensions for apps such as Clock, Spotify, and YouTube Music, among others.
While not all extensions on this list will be supported by Gemini Live immediately, there is potential for changes in the near future. However, it remains uncertain whether Google has finalized the development of these extensions.
Nevertheless, the knowledge of which apps will have Gemini Live support is promising. Many of these applications have already provided Gemini extension support since last year, leading to expectations of quicker integration with Gemini Live.
Overall, Google’s ambitions for Gemini Live appear to be expansive, and initial signs suggest that improvements are on the way. If everything proceeds as planned, Gemini Live and Gemini may soon function at the same level of integration.
Notably, the news outlet has already managed to enable at least four extensions that are currently in the process of rolling out. As expected, Google has not yet made an official announcement regarding these new extensions, so users will need to be patient until the stable rollout occurs.
