The foldable phone market is filled with excitement and intriguing rumors, especially regarding Samsung’s upcoming releases. The flagship clamshell device, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, has been widely discussed, but there has been uncertainty surrounding its more affordable variant.

Recent leaks from an accessory manufacturer have seemingly clarified this mystery, revealing that the budget-friendly model will be named the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. For those following the tech scene, there has been speculation about whether this device would be labeled simply as the ‘Galaxy Z Flip FE’ or embrace a more sequential name like ‘Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.’ Recent reports hinted at the latter possibility, and the latest leak appears to confirm those insights.

The breakthrough comes from an unexpected but credible source: case manufacturers. Spigen, a notable name in phone accessories, briefly listed cases for both the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and, importantly, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.

Although these listings were quickly removed, screenshots captured by the ever-watchful internet provide compelling evidence of the confirmed branding. This revelation is significant as it indicates Samsung’s intent to align its foldable devices more closely with its conventional smartphone lineup.

The company has already employed the FE branding in its Galaxy S series, with the recent Galaxy S24 FE. However, this naming convention isn’t strictly adhered to; for instance, Samsung previously introduced the Galaxy Z Fold SE instead of naming it after the sixth generation.

By incorporating the “7” into the name of its more affordable foldable, Samsung seems to be positioning the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE alongside its premium counterpart, simplifying its place in the product lineup for consumers. This is promising news for budget-conscious fans eager to experience foldable technology without significant compromises.

Samsung has announced they will hold their Unpacked event on July 9, where they will officially unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7, alongside the Galaxy Watch 8 series.
