Xiaomi has recently unveiled its latest innovation, the Xiaomi AI Glasses, during a significant launch event in China. This new addition joins a portfolio of advanced devices, including the MIX Flip 2 foldable phone and the Pad 7S Pro tablet.

The AI Glasses are equipped with a camera and run on Xiaomi’s proprietary Vela OS, marking a notable entry into the realm of artificial intelligence-powered wearables. Positioned as a competitor to Meta’s Ray-Ban AI Glasses, the Xiaomi AI Glasses do not feature traditional displays.

Instead, they rely on voice and touch inputs to engage with the integrated Hyper XiaoAI voice assistant. This assistant is capable of a variety of functions such as live object recognition, text translation, and calorie tracking, enhancing the user experience.

The AI Glasses harness the power of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1+ low-power chip, designed for efficient performance and battery longevity. With dual-core architecture, the processor manages demanding AI tasks while a separate chip handles routine operations like music playback.

The device is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, ensuring smooth functionality. One of the standout features of the Xiaomi AI Glasses is the 12-megapixel Sony IMX681 camera, which captures images with a resolution of 4,032 x 3,024 pixels and records 2K videos at 30 frames per second.

The glasses connect seamlessly with the HyperOS ecosystem, allowing for live streaming and voice calls. They also include dual speakers and a five-microphone array, enhancing audio clarity.

Durably designed for everyday use, the AI Glasses weigh just 40 grams and feature a D-shaped TR90 nylon frame with aerospace-grade titanium alloy hinges. With an IP54 rating for water and sweat resistance, they are built to withstand daily wear.

Xiaomi has launched these glasses in three variants, starting at a price of 1,999 Yuan (approximately $280). As of now, they are available for purchase through Xiaomi’s website, though details about global availability remain unspecified.
