For fans of Sony smartphones, recent leaks have unveiled intriguing insights into the company’s upcoming plans. It looks like a successor to the mid-range Xperia 10 VI, likely named the Sony Xperia 10 VII, has surfaced.

Reports suggest this new model could be launched as soon as October. The news arrives following the global introduction of the Xperia 1 VII, which is currently Sony’s only smartphone release this year.

The leaked information includes model numbers PM-1510-BV to PM-1515-BV, indicating different regional variants. Additionally, its IMEI starts with 35009934 and is associated with the code ‘XQ-FE44.’

Although these details are mainly of interest to those tracking unreleased devices, they affirm that Sony is indeed working on another model as part of its 2025 lineup. However, the leak reveals a significant absence in Sony’s offerings: there is no sign of a new Xperia 5 model for the second consecutive generation.

This suggests that the company may choose to skip launching a compact flagship model in this series once again. Notably, the previous Xperia VI series also missed a smaller iteration, with the last Xperia 5 model, the Xperia 5 V, debuting in 2023.

This shift may disappoint fans who prefer high-performance, compact phones, as the Xperia 5 lineup has traditionally been a more compact alternative to the larger Xperia 1 devices. Moreover, uncertainties surround the global availability of Sony’s latest offerings.

The Xperia 1 VII is notably absent from key markets, such as North America, raising questions about Sony’s future distribution plans—including for the anticipated Xperia 10 VII. Regional fans are left pondering the availability of new Sony smartphones.

For now, it seems Sony is prioritizing the mid-range segment with the Xperia 10 VII while the future of the Xperia 5 series hangs in the balance. More updates are anticipated in the days to come.
