The Samsung Galaxy S23 series smartphones, including the Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE, are now receiving the June 2025 Android security update in the United States. This rollout follows earlier updates that were released in other markets, including Samsung’s home country, South Korea. This security update is based on Android 15 and integrates One UI 7.0. It includes 18 fixes from Google aimed at enhancing the Android operating system.

Additionally, Samsung has implemented 19 fixes of its own for One UI, making the update an important one for overall device performance and security. The update is being distributed in stages across the U.S., so users may need to be patient as it becomes available. The initial rollout of this update began in Korea and then progressed to Europe before making its way to the U.S. For those who wish to check for the update sooner, it can be manually searched for in the device’s settings. Alternatively, advanced users can opt to manually install the update using Odin, although this method carries risks and requires familiarity with the process.

Looking ahead, all four Galaxy S23 models will be eligible for the upcoming Android 16 update, unlike the Galaxy S21 line, which will not receive further major OS updates beyond Android 15. With Android 15 and One UI 7 having been introduced recently, the Android 16 update is already in the testing phase and is expected to be released later this year. Samsung is actively preparing to ensure that users can enjoy the latest features and improvements as they become available.
