Samsung has inadvertently revealed the names of its upcoming foldable smartphones ahead of the official announcement. The new devices, expected to be named the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, were confirmed through a slip on the Samsung Internet Browser listing in the Galaxy Store. GalaxyClub was the first to notice that the listing mentioned ‘Samsung Internet Browser for Fold7 and Flip7.’ This revelation is particularly interesting as the app can only be accessed on devices running the newly beta version of Android 16 with One UI 8, specifically for the Galaxy S25 series.
Users with Galaxy devices operating on Android 15 and One UI 7 are unable to view this listing, indicating that Samsung did not anticipate beta testers would discover and share the information. The slip further suggests that there will not be a Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra, despite earlier speculation. Although Samsung teased an ‘Ultra’ experience, it appears this was merely marketing hype, as noted by tech analyst Max Jambor. Instead, the focus seems to be on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, with the potential addition of a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE variant.
Furthermore, Samsung is expected to introduce its first tri-fold smartphone later this year, although it may only be available in Korea and China. According to the latest reports, the new foldable smartphones are set for a launch in early July. Samsung might also host its second Unpacked event of the year in New York, although an official confirmation from the company is still pending. As fans eagerly await the launch, more details are expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
