At the start of this month, Redmagic teased the launch of its new gaming tablet, the Tablet 3 Pro, and it has officially debuted in China. This marks Redmagic’s second foray into the gaming tablet market, with this model being notably smaller. Featuring a 9.06-inch display, it’s designed for portability, though realistically, most consumers will likely need a bag to carry it, as standard pant and jacket pockets may not accommodate its size.
Earlier expectations suggested a display size of around 8 inches, but the final size promises better comfort during extended gaming sessions, especially when compared to the larger Nova tablet. The Redmagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro is not just about size; it is also lightweight, which should reduce hand fatigue during long gaming marathons. In terms of global availability, the tablet will also be released under a different name outside of China; it will be branded as the Redmagic Astra Gaming Tablet in markets like the US.
The official announcement for this global launch is expected on July 1, and while pricing details for the US have yet to be disclosed, more information will likely be available then. Regarding performance, the Tablet 3 Pro is equipped with high-end specs, including a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a speedy 144Hz display for smooth visuals. Additionally, it houses a sizable 8,200mAh battery with support for 80W charging, allowing for extended gaming sessions without the immediate need for a recharge.
In China, the starting price is set at ¥3,999 for the model featuring 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, while higher configurations range from ¥4,699 to ¥5,999. Based on current exchange rates, users can expect to pay around $550 to $600 for the base model in the US.
