Apple is gearing up for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), scheduled from June 9th to June 13th. During this event, the company is expected to unveil new versions of its software, including iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3. However, it appears that no new hardware will be announced, as reported by industry rumors.

According to *9to5Mac*, Apple will reveal five previously unreported features for existing AirPods at WWDC 2025, aimed at enhancing the user experience across its audio accessories. The anticipated features include new head gesture controls, sleep detection, camera control, audio mixing capabilities, and improved pairing functionalities for shared iPads. One notable addition is the new head gestures for AirPods, which will simplify the Conversation Awareness volume adjustment process.

Currently, users can manage this feature by pressing and holding the device’s stem or swiping on it, but head gestures will introduce a more intuitive method. Additionally, the sleep detection feature aims to automatically pause audio playback when the user falls asleep while using their AirPods. It remains unconfirmed whether this feature will operate independently or in conjunction with the Apple Watch to monitor sleep status.

Furthermore, users can look forward to the ability to launch the iPhone or iPad camera with a simple tap on their AirPods’ stem. Apple is also developing an Audio Mix feature, similar to one introduced with the iPhone 16, which could enhance the AirPods’ functionality for content creators. Lastly, improved support for classroom settings will allow multiple AirPods to connect to the same iPad more efficiently, minimizing latency issues in the current system.

Although there’s potential for changes or delays in these features, clarity will come soon as WWDC 2025 unfolds.
