This morning, Google announced the dates for the Pixel 10 announcement and availability, and a prototype of the Pixel 10 Pro has surfaced on the Chinese social media platform Coolapk. This device is reportedly a DVT1.0 prototype, which indicates that its design may differ from what we will see during the official launch in August. One of the most noticeable changes in this model, compared to the Pixel 9 Pro, is the camera bar, which appears to be taller this time. This alteration is surprising, especially considering that the camera specifications are expected to remain the same as those of the Pixel 9 Pro.

Additionally, the images indicate that the prototype is running Android 16 rather than QPR1, which was recently launched at Google I/O and has likely been in internal testing at Google for some time. Another noteworthy design change is the relocation of the SIM card tray to the top of the device, replacing the antenna position found on the Pixel 9 Pro. This adjustment leaves us with what seems to be two speakers at the bottom of the device. It’s essential to remember that this is not the final design, and while the wide camera bar may not make it to the production model, the position of the SIM card tray could potentially be retained in the final version.

In terms of hardware, we have gathered some information about the Tensor G5 processor. Reports indicate it will be an eight-core chip, manufactured by TSMC, as Google moves away from Samsung. It will feature a combination of Cortex-A520, Cortex-A725, and Cortex-X4 cores, with an emphasis on AI performance over raw power. With a 5nm chipset hinted at in the screenshots and a storage option of 256GB, we look forward to more leaks as the Pixel 10 series is set to be announced on August 13.
