OPPO launched its X8 Ultra flagship phone in April 2025, featuring two impressive 50MP periscope telephoto cameras and the high-end Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Now, the brand is developing its successor, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, which is expected to debut no earlier than the first quarter of 2026. Although the launch date is still in the future, rumors and leaks about the Find X9 Ultra’s camera specifications have already started circulating. According to the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, the Find X9 series, including the Ultra model, is expected to include periscope camera lenses across all configurations.
This trend continues from the current generation, but the X9 Ultra is anticipated to push technological boundaries. Reports suggest that the prototype of the Find X9 Ultra boasts periscope lenses with 200MP and 50MP capabilities, significantly enhancing its photographic performance compared to the X8 Ultra, which features two 50MP periscope lenses. The new prototype is rumored to incorporate Samsung’s ISOCELL HP5 and JN5 sensors, although the final decision on these components is yet to be made. In addition, the tipster has noted that the spectral image sensor from the Find X8 Ultra might be included in more affordable models within the Find X9 series, such as the Find X9 Pro and the base model.
This addition aims to improve color accuracy and produce more natural skin tones, similar to features found in Huawei’s Mate 70 series. Furthermore, there are suggestions that the Find X9 Ultra could sport four primary cameras, including a 200MP main sensor and a 50MP ultrawide lens, potentially developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. As for the chipset, the Find X9 series is expected to utilize MediaTek’s next-generation Dimensity 9500 SoC. Unlike its predecessor, which used a Snapdragon chip, the Find X9 Ultra is likely to rely on MediaTek hardware.
Stay tuned for more updates as more details emerge regarding OPPO’s upcoming flagship.
