Recent updates have emerged about Samsung’s highly anticipated tri-fold smartphone, marking the company’s first venture into this innovative design. A tipster known as PandaFlashPro shared insights on various specifications, including the camera setup, build materials, system-on-chip (SoC), and RAM. The information disclosed by PandaFlashPro has reportedly been validated by a reliable source.

Notably, Samsung’s tri-fold phone will not feature an under-display camera, a departure from previous models, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which also omits this technology. The device is said to incorporate a more robust build by combining titanium and aluminum, promising improved durability. In terms of performance, the tri-fold smartphone will solely use a Snapdragon chip, creating speculation that it may be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy.

This launch is anticipated this year, likely ahead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 becoming available. The device is expected to support 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and this capacity will be the only option offered to users. While details regarding battery capacity are still under review, the tipster noted receiving less-than-ideal information that hints at a standard battery rather than a silicon-carbon variant.

However, a higher-density battery is planned for the smartphone. While Samsung’s next event is set for July 9, where the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Watch 8 will be unveiled, the tri-fold phone is unlikely to debut at this time. There are indications that its launch might initially be limited to Korea and China, potentially excluding a global rollout.
