Google has been making significant strides in the competitive AI landscape, particularly with its recent developments for Chromebook Plus. Instead of focusing solely on Android, the tech giant is now integrating advanced AI features into its Chromebook lineup.
For users of the Chromebook Plus, a multitude of new AI capabilities is on the way, with exclusive offerings for Lenovo’s newest Chromebook Plus 14. In a recent announcement, Google unveiled an array of features for the Chromebook Plus series, all set to be integrated into Chrome OS.
One standout feature is “Select to Search with Lens,” also known as Circle to Search, which allows users to gather information from their screen effortlessly. By long-pressing the launcher or using the screenshot tool, users can select any on-screen object and retrieve details about it.
In addition to Circle to Search, a new Text Capture feature has been introduced. This tool extracts text directly from images, eliminating the need for manual typing.
For example, if a user encounters an image of a handwritten recipe, the Text Capture function will seamlessly convert it into editable text. Additionally, users can highlight events and add them to their Google Calendar with ease.
For those interested in AI-generated imagery, the Quick Insert key allows for convenient insertion of photos and emojis into documents and presentations. Moreover, the Simplify button, part of Google’s Help Me Read feature, enhances comprehension by breaking down complex language into easier-to-understand terms.
Lenovo’s Chromebook Plus 14 will also feature unique capabilities, including a Smart Group function that organizes tabs and documents efficiently, and AI-enhanced image editing within the Gallery app. Alongside these Chromebook updates, Google has also launched the Luminar AI photo editing app and optimized the game “Squid Game: Unleashed” for Chromebooks.
Furthermore, customers purchasing the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 will receive a complimentary 12-month AI Pro plan, showcasing Google’s commitment to enhancing user experience.
