It has been officially confirmed that the Google Pixel 10 series will support Qi2 wireless charging, as reported by *Android Authority*. Google is set to introduce its own line of Qi2 accessories called “Pixelsnap,” which will be available through the Google Store and possibly other retailers.
The accessory lineup includes a Qi2 charger, a charging stand, and a ring stand. The Qi2 charger is designed to resemble Apple’s MagSafe charger, while the stand will likely maintain the look of the existing Pixel Stand 2, featuring a slot for the Qi2 charger.
Given that the Pixel Stand 2 has not been available in the Google Store for some time, it’s anticipated that its replacement is overdue. Initially launched in 2021, this update is welcomed.
However, to utilize Qi2 wireless charging, users will need to purchase a case with integrated Qi2 magnets, as these magnets will not be included in the Pixel 10 series itself. This trend has been observed in other Android smartphones released this year, where cases are required to access the Qi2 functionality.
The Galaxy S25 series and certain aspects of the OnePlus 13 follow this pattern as well, with OnePlus offering “MagSafe” support through its cases. Furthermore, Google plans to release a new dual-port USB-C charger.
Currently, a single-port 45W charger is available for $29.99. The upcoming dual-port version is expected to feature a high-powered port alongside a slower one, possibly for charging devices like the Pixel Watch.
However, it is important to note that the Pixel 10 series may not achieve 45W charging speeds, similar to previous models. Details regarding the pricing of these accessories remain undisclosed but are anticipated to be announced during the Made by Google event on August 20, with the Pixel 10 release date set for August 28.
