The Google Pixel 10 base model is facing some disappointing news this year. Notably, Google has once again omitted a vapor chamber in this version. The vapor chamber, which was featured in the Pixel 9 series, significantly enhances performance, making its absence in the Pixel 10 disheartening.
However, with the inclusion of a telephoto camera this year, it is clear that Google aimed to distinguish the base model from the Pro variants. Despite the absence of the vapor chamber, there’s hope that the Tensor G5 will provide sufficient efficiency to reduce performance concerns for the Pixel 10. Additionally, the Pixel 10 will miss out on WiFi 7 support, which is puzzling considering that the Pixel 9 specs list it as a feature.
Interestingly, the Pixel 9a does not support WiFi 7 either, despite sharing the same modem with the Pixel 10 series. The reasoning behind this inconsistency raises questions among consumers. Moreover, the base model will lack the new “Ultra Res Zoom” feature and the ultra-stable video recording capabilities, which are exclusive to the Pro models.
Ultra Res Zoom represents an advancement over the previous Super Res Zoom, which offered up to 8x zoom, allowing for even greater range in photography. On the design front, the Pixel 10 will showcase matte sides and a glossy back, similar to its predecessor, the Pixel 9. For those eager to get their hands on the device, the Google Pixel 10 is set for release on August 28, with a Made by Google event scheduled for August 20.
