Google Photos Could Soon Recommend Photos to Delete If You Have Too Many
Google Photos is becoming increasingly sophisticated, largely due to Google’s ongoing efforts to incorporate artificial intelligence into the application. Notably, earlier this month, Google introduced AI-powered editing suggestions, which help users improve their photos with ease. A new report indicates that Google Photos may soon roll out a feature that suggests photos for deletion.
According to a report from Android Authority, code strings have been discovered in Google Photos release version 7.35 that hint at the upcoming deletion suggestion feature. This functionality will suggest photos users might want to delete after they manually select and remove multiple images. Once this feature is activated, users will receive a notification indicating the new capability. The anticipated banner will state, “Try a new deleting experience whenever you select and delete %1$d or more photos.”
Additionally, when the feature is available, a pop-up titled “Clean up your library” will appear, informing users, “We found some photos you may want to delete.” It seems likely that Google Photos will utilize AI to enhance the accuracy of these deletion suggestions.
Users can also take control of this feature by reviewing the suggested deletions before proceeding. A setting related to this functionality will be included, allowing users to disable it if they find it unhelpful. While the timeline for the feature’s rollout remains uncertain, it is evident that Google Photos is receiving significant attention and updates, which bodes well for its users.
