The latest update for the Google Pixel Camera, version 9.9.106.773153235.19, is now being rolled out to Pixel phones. This follows a similar update just ten days prior, which was marked as 9.9.106.767010485.16.

While this update is relatively minor, it does have a few notable changes. One significant change is the continued removal of the Social Share option from the previous update.

Users can no longer swipe up on the circular preview of their last photo to share it with compatible apps. This feature allowed users to select up to three targets, but it appears to be permanently discontinued with this version.

Moreover, the update includes modifications to the visibility of the Timer icons. The visibility of the numerals indicating 3, 5, and 10 seconds has been adjusted, though opinions vary on whether this improvement enhances readability.

Some users feel that the numerals in version 9.8 were clearer and more visually appealing. Another feature that remains absent is the ‘education hub,’ which was announced as part of the June 2025 Pixel Feature Drop.

Although this feature is expected to arrive for Pixel 6 and newer models, it will be delivered as a server-side update. Once available, users will find a question mark in the top-right corner of the Camera viewfinder.

Tapping this icon will provide tips and instructions for various photo modes. In summary, while this update offers some changes, it is relatively modest and unlikely to excite many users.

The anticipation for a more comprehensive redesign, like the Material 3 Expressive version of the Pixel Camera, continues to linger among fans.
