Reports suggest that Samsung could skip One UI 7 Watch entirely and move directly to One UI 8 Watch. The delays affecting the smartphone version of One UI 7 may have impacted Galaxy Watch users, leaving them eagerly awaiting the next major software update.

Recently, leaks provided a glimpse of what the new icons could look like in One UI 8 Watch. According to tipster IposDev, some of Samsung’s app icons for One UI 8 Watch appear to be similar to those in One UI 7 on Samsung smartphones.

However, there are notable differences, particularly for Galaxy Watch devices; the icons are expected to be circular. Additionally, the icons are designed with a prominent white border, which aims to enhance contrast and improve visibility essential for smaller smartwatch screens.

In April, Google announced that its Gemini AI-powered assistant would be coming to wearables. The leaked icons also offer an early look at the Gemini icon for One UI 8.

Some users have reported receiving this new icon on their smartwatches, although it still activates the classic Google Assistant. This indicates that preparations are underway for a full Gemini integration.

The transition to One UI 8 Watch suggests that Samsung is preparing for a considerable software update. By bypassing One UI 7, the company appears focused on delivering a more significant overhaul with fresh features and a modernized look.

This major software evolution could bring exciting advancements for Galaxy Watch users, enhancing their overall experience.
