Samsung’s AI Dining Experience: Transform Your Meal Ideas into Reality With a Simple Photo
Have you ever been curious about the capabilities of artificial intelligence beyond its traditional uses? It turns out that AI can create unique recipes, a concept that Samsung is bringing to life with its innovative pop-up restaurant in Portugal. Samsung’s new restaurant, named Sem Igual, which translates to “Without Equal” or “Unique,” showcases the power of Galaxy AI.
The dining experience at Sem Igual is particularly intriguing. Diners will be provided with the latest Galaxy S25 smartphones at their tables to photograph the ingredients of their choice. They can choose from one carbohydrate, one protein, three vegetables, and a sauce.
Once the diners have taken pictures of their selected ingredients, Galaxy AI steps in to craft a distinctive recipe based on those choices. This AI-generated recipe then makes its way to the kitchen, where Chef João Dourado brings it to life. According to Samsung Portugal, the restaurant offers a plethora of combinations, allowing for thousands of potential dishes from a total of 25 available ingredients.
Remarkably, the Sem Igual restaurant is designed so that no two diners will receive the same dish. However, this exclusive culinary experience is short-lived. The pop-up AI restaurant will open for just two days, on May 8 and 9, in Lisbon.
There will also be another Sem Igual location in Porto on May 16 and 17. While patrons can enjoy the artistry of AI in shaping their dishes, it’s important to note that cooking remains a task for humans at this point.
