Samsung’s earnings call for the first quarter of 2025 provided insightful information regarding the performance of their latest flagship, the Galaxy S25 series. The company reported that the Galaxy S25 lineup experienced strong sales during its initial two months on the market; however, they did not disclose specific unit shipment details.
A financial firm, Hana Securities, later estimated the sales figures, indicating that the Galaxy S25 Ultra has significantly outperformed both the Galaxy S25 and S25+ models combined. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, priced at $1,299, is Samsung’s top-tier smartphone, delivering exceptional mobile performance and an advanced camera system.
Despite concerns regarding the removal of certain Bluetooth features from the S Pen, which some users had anticipated, the price tag does not appear to have deterred consumers. Instead, the device’s premium quality and distinctive design have contributed to its popularity.
According to Hana Securities, Samsung sold a total of 20.29 million smartphones in Q1 2025. Notably, the sales of Samsung’s mobile devices in March 2025 experienced a 5% increase compared to February, although they remain 2% lower than the same period in 2024.
The Galaxy S25 series accounted for around 9.16 million of these units sold, demonstrating robust performance. In terms of individual model sales, the Galaxy S25 sold about 2.41 million units, and the Galaxy S25+ saw approximately 1.67 million units sold.
The standout performer, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, achieved impressive sales, totaling 5.08 million units. Reports suggest that external factors, such as tariffs, may have influenced the high sales of the Galaxy S25 series, leaving it to be seen if this momentum continues in the upcoming months.
