The anticipation for Mafia: The Old Country is building as the game has now been given an official launch date. Set to launch on August 8, 2025, this latest installment in the Mafia series, developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K Games, promises a unique experience.

While it introduces new gameplay mechanics, it aims to maintain the essence that long-time fans have come to love. One of the significant changes is the game’s structure.

Unlike its predecessors, Mafia: The Old Country will not be an open-world game. Instead, it offers a linear, narrative-driven experience.

According to studio president Nick Baynes, this game is designed to provide a focused and gritty storyline set in early 1900s Sicily. Players will step into the shoes of Enzo Favara, who embarks on a journey within the Torrisi crime family, embracing themes of brutality and emotional depth.

For those eager to engage with the game, leaving behind the wait will soon be a reality. The recent trailers, including a two-minute official gameplay trailer, showcase a variety of action-packed scenes and insights into different aspects of the game, including a selection of weapons at Enzo’s disposal.

Additionally, a longer developer insight video, nearly an hour in length, delves into the game’s development process and reveals intriguing details about customizable knives and their various attributes. As the release date nears, Hangar 13 has also shared the minimum and recommended specifications for PC players.

For an optimal experience, players will need at least an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or Intel Core i7-12700K, along with a GPU like the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Ti or AMD Radeon 6950 XT, complemented by 32GB of RAM. This setup will allow for high graphics preset at 1440p resolution, with even higher specs recommended for 4K gameplay.
